On the journey from Pisco to Nazca we stopped at a dessert Oasis called Iqa. Its your classic stereotypical Oasis. I small lake with palm trees arround it slap bang in the middle of huge sand dunes. We had the opportunity to go sand boarding and a few of us in the group had a go.

We all piled into a 9 seater sand buggy and the driver then took off at speed into the desert. The ride was great! The driver would just floor it up one side of a dune then down the near verticle otherside. At four points we stopped and for the sandboarding. Unfortunatly we didn“t get a chance to have a go standing up so we just went down head first, lying on our front on the board. The dunes the driver chose gradully got larger until we were at a dune that was easily 150 meters high and pretty steep.

All in all a great experience and 13 US$ well spent.

I managed to get a few photos and videos while going down on the board and in the buggy and will upload those when I get the chance.
